The American School of Dubai is an independent, not-for-profit, US curriculum, PreK-12 international school that provides learning experiences designed to promote the maximum potential of its students. Founded in 1966 by the Dubai Petroleum Company and formerly known as Jumairah American School, ASD has a rich and vibrant history. ASD is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. With enrollment of approximately 1,900 students, world-class facilities, highly experienced leadership, professional, dedicated, and certified faculty, staff, and counseling teams, a college-preparatory US curriculum and AP program that integrate technology to support student learning, hundreds of extracurricular and student activities in the Arts, Athletics, and Service Learning, and an engaged community of parents, alumni, and friends—an ASD education is intentionally designed to prepare every student to be future ready.

ASD follows the common core and standards-based learning models for classroom instruction and student assessment, focusing on student mastery of concepts and skills. Flexible learning spaces in the Elementary School enhance the foundation of teaching and learning, and support co-teaching in K1 and K2 classes. The Middle School incorporates Design Thinking and inquiry based learning to allow the exploration of individual interests. The High School offers 25 AP classes, AP Capstone, distance learning, and INSPIRE global trips (cultural, eco-adventurous, or service learning experiences) to enhance the rich educational opportunities.
